2023, peat, wood, 31x14x11 cm /// Dmitry Lavrentjev (1970) is a contemporary artist who works in various genres of visual art. He likes to use various non-traditional materials in his works, giving them a new meaning. The sculpture “Head” is made of wood and turf and was exhibited in the artist’s large-scale personal exhibition “Apocalypse” (2023/2024, gallery “Art Platz”, Riga, Latvia). Dmitry Lavrentjev has organized 26 solo exhibitions and participated in 100 group shows and international projects. His works are in public collections – Rothko Museum (Daugavpils, Latvia), Minsk Modern and Contemporary Art Center (Minsk, Belarus), and the Vitebsk Museum of Modern Art (Vitebsk, Belarus).
