The specific painting depicts a rural landscape with a road motif. The road is chosen as the central object and is placed in the entire plane of the painting from the foreground to the background. The colour palette and the interplay of light and shades indicate the representation of the summer season. The basis of the composition is a realistic landscape. The painting technique dominates the individual brushstrokes and softened forms typical of Impressionist painting. Also, the sky area is relevant in the whole painting, which is formed by densely arranged clouds. The horizon line is placed in the centre of the composition, which is bolded out by the silhouette of the forest in the background.
