Evening

2015–2018, watercolour on paper, 69x95 cm (with frame 76x102x1 cm) /// Aquarelle painter Zigmunds Šņore (1942) focuses in his artistic practice on atmospheric landscapes in which light, colour, and mood form a balanced unity. In the aquarelle titled “Evening”, softly blurred planes and slender vertical accents crystallise through transparent layers of muted greens, ochres, and greyish tones, evoking the calm and introspection of dusk. The restrained palette and nuanced tonal transitions lend the work a sense of spatial depth, allowing the fleeting atmosphere of the evening landscape to be perceived. /// The artist’s signature is located on the lower right side.
