Autumn Mood

2006, oil on cardboard, 66x87 cm (with frame 74x95x2 cm) /// Edgars Vinters (1919–2014) – one of the representatives of classical Latvian landscape painting. In the painting “Autumn Mood”, the artist turns to the richness of autumnal colour, particularly highlighting the nuances of yellow tones – from light golden hues to ochre yellows. These tones dominate the foliage and disperse throughout the composition, contrasting with the darker areas of the tree trunks and water. The painting is executed with a free, light brushstroke, which in places evokes a sketch and enhances the sense of capturing a fleeting moment. /// The artist’s signature and date are located on the lower left side.
