By applying colour in multiple translucent layers, she achieves a nuanced depth and richness of colour relationships that heighten the sense of atmosphere and fleeting moment. The work depicts a tranquil coastal scene at dusk, as the sky shifts from deep blue tones into a warm, golden light. Painted in broad, fluid strokes, the landscape reveals voluminous clouds and the sunset’s colours reflected on the water’s surface, complemented by a dark silhouette along the horizon and two small sailing boats at the centre of the composition.
