Art Platz Auction Highlights for August feature coastal landscapes by Valērijs Baida and Andis Gūtmanis. The paintings depict Liepāja Harbour in anticipation of a sailing regatta and the seashore at Lapmežciems, capturing two distinct coastal moods. Warm evening light and the rhythm of sailboats create a sun-filled summer atmosphere in Baida’s work, while Gūtmanis’ painting draws the eye towards the horizon, emphasising the openness and tranquillity of the sea. Both paintings Regatta in Liepāja (Lot 2026/0365) and The Pier at Lapmežciems (Lot 2026/0366) are currently available for online bidding.
